Consultation: Better Health for All Londoners
Posted: 06 September 2017

Despite having made a great deal of progress in recent years, health inequalities in London remain high. This reduces productivity and impacts on people’s quality of life.  Healthy life expectancy varies both between and within boroughs. The Better Health for All Londoners strategy sets out the Mayor’s ambitions and proposals that will help create a healthier and fairer city.

The Mayor's office are keen to know what you think, how you can help, what you are already doing, and what the Mayor could do to help you do even more.

You can read the draft strategy here.

There are a variety of ways to participate and respond to the consultation, as follows:
  • Give comments and feedback via the online consultation survey here. A freepost address is available for anyone wishing to submit a paper response.  For more details, please email healthinequalities@london.gov.uk
  • Review the Integrated Impact Assessment (IIA) on the draft strategy.  This examines the possible economic, environmental and social impacts of the draft strategy.  You can include your views on the impacts that have been identified and any you feel have been missed, in your survey responses.
  • Contribute to one of the stakeholder engagement events which will take place in September, October and November.  Please email healthinequalities@london.gov.uk for details.
  • Formally make an offer of support via the a pledge portal which will go live in the Autumn.
  • Discuss the draft London Health Inequalities Strategy with your colleagues.  Email healthinequalities@london.gov.uk, marking the subject 'Resources', for a slide pack specifically created for such meetings.  You can then submit a summary of your discussions by email or via the online survey.

The consultation closes on 30 November 2017.
