New Funding Framework

Voluntary and Community Sector Funding for 2007/2008 and Beyond:

Joint Statement by London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, Richmond and Twickenham Primary Care Trust and Richmond Council for Voluntary Service

The London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames (LBRuT), Richmond and Twickenham Primary Care Trust (RTPCT) and Richmond Council for Voluntary Service ( RCVS ) are continuing to work together to develop new arrangements for voluntary and community sector funding in the borough from 2007/08 onwards. There are 3 main questions that need to be resolved:

  • What will be funded by the Council and the PCT from 2007/08 onwards (the list of funding priorities)?
  • How will that list of priorities be funded (eg through grants, contracts, service level agreements, etc) and how much money is needed to fund that list effectively?
  • Who will manage the funds?

Arrangements for 2007/08

Currently, an interim Framework for 2007/08 has being developed. Full details of the funding arrangements for 2007/08 have been published in the Grants Direct section as soon as possible.

Arrangements for 2008/09

During the first part of 2007 LBRuT and RTPCT plan to develop a new longer-term Framework for the period 2008/09 onwards. The voluntary and community sector will also be involved in the development of this longer-term Framework.

The management of voluntary and community sector funding for 2008/09 onwards will be subject to review in early 2007 as part of the development of the longer term Funding Policy Framework.

All three partners are committed to ensuring that the Voluntary and Community Sector is enabled to play an active role in the consultation process for the development of the new Funding Policy Framework for 2007/08 and for the longer-term Framework for 2008/09 onwards.

Irrespective of the outcome of the contract negotiations about Grants Direct, all 3 partners remain committed to close and effective partnership working.
