Children and Young People

Children and Young People's Voluntary Sector Strategic Lead

Achieving for Children (AfC) is the council owned community interest company (CIC) that delivers children’s services in Richmond and Kingston.

Further information about the AfC model and

its functions can be found in our latest AfC briefing paper

Richmond CVS provides the strategic lead for the children and young people's voluntary sector.

In this context children and young people are defined as those aged up to nineteen years, with an upper age of twenty-five years for those managing any kind of disability.

This strand of the voluntary sector encompasses a rich and diverse group of voluntary and community groups in our borough, and service providers include those working in education, early years, youth work, social care, arts and culture.

As the strategic lead we have responsibility for supporting partnership working and commissioning that enables work of high quality, and achieves good value through integration.
