Performance Improvement Team

RCVS has a team of advisers who can provide advice and information about most aspects of running a voluntary organisation. We can provide help on:

  • Starting up
  • Raising funds
  • Looking after the finances
  • Organisational healthcheck and review
  • Planning for the future
  • Governance (anything to do with the work of the trustees or committee)
  • Monitoring and evaluating your work
  • Quality and quality systems
  • and much more!

Services

Most of the help on offer is free and the remainder is low cost. We aim to ensure that no organisation misses out because they can't afford the support they need.

Our support is flexible and varied - just like the organisations we work with:

We offer advice and information, training and workshops, templates and models, leaflets and links, updates and contacts.

We work on a one-to-one basis, with groups within a single organisation and with mixed groups from several organisations via face-to-face meetings, phone or e-mail

We work with all sizes of group from small groups that are just starting up and need to know the basics, through to larger, well-established organisations that need something more in-depth.

We work with people right across organisations - trustees, staff and volunteers - from a single contact to an ongoing, supportive relationship.

Our help ranges from answering one-off quick questions to facilitating full day, tailor-made workshops.

All our help is confidential.

If you're not sure whether we can help, please do call.
Even if we can't help, we'll probably know someone who can.

What Our Clients Have Said…

"I am delighted to tell you that [we are] now a registered charity! A big Thank You from all of us for your help and advice which was vital to achieve this."

"Thank you so very much…………it went very well.

I know that we have a way to go yet, but I feel more confident now"

"A good introduction that has helped me understand the role of finance in a voluntary organisation & how as a trustee I can gain a greater understanding & hopefully a more pro-active role."

Key Links

Don't forget to visit the Community Accountant's website full of useful financial information for charities, including guidance material, signposting, news and training courses. Click here to visit.

We also have a Fundraising page with plenty of links to good advice, free downloads, local funders, training opportunities, forthcoming events and more.

If you want to give your organisation a quick review, consider our basic healthcheck. You can download a copy here [add link] and complete it yourself or you can book an appointment with one of our advisers who will visit your organisation and work through it with you in a couple of hours. (Contact details above)

We recognise that a brief healthcheck can't cover everything, so we use it as a prompt to help you identify those areas where you want to make some improvements and to help us to focus our support accordingly.

Lastly, whilst you're browsing, why not look at our new "Trustee Gym" training brochure. With over 30 bite size sessions designed to fit into your existing board meeting and provide a little fun whilst helping you improve your governance or financial capabilities, there's something for everyone.
